4/30/12

So it was my first day at Germantown Friends School. It is a co-ed school all the way from nursery age to high school. I met a lot of different kids and were all nice. The campus is enormous and beautiful; it gives off a very calming relaxing feeling. The teachers are good but it is different on how they address the teachers, addressing them by their first name, instead of last. The schedule is nice with alot of breaks and free periods built into it, which is something I never experienced so that was fun. During those free periods or times, all the students go to one section of the campus called Hargroves. In the Hargroves building there is a little type of cafeteria area and tables for students to do work; it almost felt like a college environment. Eventhough the campus is big the way it is set up it is easy to get around to places without getting lost, which is good. My first day at the school went pretty good.

Arrival. April 29, 2012

I took two trains from Metro Park to 30th Street, Philadelphia, Pennylvania. I arrived to Philadelphia at 3:45pm. I met my host family for the first time by trying to find Neil (sophomore) and Mrs. Singh in the train station. Then, we went to my new home for these next two weeks. A beautiful, welcoming home. I met Sonali (junior), and then Neil and I went to go play some basketball outside. I won a game and lost a game. He got lucky. Later, Mrs. Singh took me to the grocery store and we bought my favorite cereals, Captain Crunch and Cocoa Puffs, and my favorite ice cream, Mint Chocolate Chip. Finally, we went back to the house and I wrote this blog.
